Pledgees.

We are tired of the grey areas and manipulative tactics so commonly deployed by companies and marketers. We want to be part of the solution – to open up the conversation – so the industry becomes more transparent and honest and contributing towards true positive change. Transparency, honesty and empowering the business community to implement best practice is so vital for us all, but especially for consumers. They need to fully trust brands and have faith that we are doing the right things!

I pledge to market ethically because I do not like the idea of copywriting and its manipulative nature. I pledge to market ethically because I believe in the power of organic content marketing (content marketing = marketing – manipulative selling + delivering real value)

I believe a better world is possible. Persuasion strategy and tactics, like marketing, have the power to affect great change within our current economic structure AND help us dream together outside of it. Removing violence, manipulation, coercion and falseness from selling goods and services is the bare minimum for creating a more just world.

I am making the ethical pledge because as a conscious personal development coach, blogger and enthusiast I know that the personal development and coaching industries are loaded with unethical practices and ethics has become an unshakable value for me both personally and in business so I have made it my mission to be as ethical as a member in both those industries, sharing those truths in everything that I do and put out

We promote the power of consensual touch as therapy in all arenas, and want to remove the misunderstandings and stigma surrounding the provision of touch. We believe that businesses should strive to be kind, ethical and transparent, and we are proud to be involved with The Ethical Move to further that goal.

I’m tired of feeling unclear, manipulated or simply lied to. I want to consciously not behave that way in my own business, and to encourage others to consider their marketing too.

I want to support conscious entrepreneurs and businesses who have people and the planet at the heart of what they do, and together we can ensure our efforts are conscious and considerate, and in the direction of positive change. Casting a vote for a better world.

I’m making the ethical move because I want to treat others the way I like to be treated myself. No smoke, no mirrors, no hidden traps. If I have to trick someone into working with me, there’s something wrong with my message.

I am making taking the ethical pledge because I want to be part of the change behind consumerism. I pledge to be open and honest with my clients about when I can help them and which services they require. I wouldn’t want to be pushed to buy something I don’t need, so why should my customers?

I’m tired of feeling embarrassed when I say I work in marketing. I’m tired of it being referred to as a dark art or manipulation. But that won’t change until the industry changes. I struggled with my profession until I realised by choosing how I work and who I work with I can still use my skills and experience to do marketing ethically, and make a difference the way I know how.
