In a world of limited resources it is imperative that everyone considers what they are buying, where it comes from, what its made from and what is going to become of it. As a new business born out of the frustration of seeing the word “sustainable” banded around like confetti, we offer consumers the opportunity to make truly informed ethical purchasing choices backed up by trusted guarantees. There is only one planet for us and every other living thing and at OFC we will do everything we can to partner and promote the products of likeminded manufacturers in the UK & EU.

I burned out from my full-time job as marketing wiz for a B2B start-up experiencing high growth. I was starting to feel the effects morally of corporate greed and needed to escape to make a change. I started my own consulting business that contracts other marketing pros who share similar beliefs and want to make a change within B2B marketing.

I am tired of conventional marketing, both as a consumer and as a business owner. The ethical move comes at a right time for me. It was about time to align my business with my values and principles. Thank you for the reminder and your work!

I am taking the pledge because if I am going to be running a business I want it to be ethical and if you know better you can do better. As I was thinking through my prices and ‘packages’ on my website I initially put what was actually charm pricing as that’s ‘what you do’ it looked nice, not too scary for me even but then I think I saw reference to this pledge and realised what I had done. I’m sick of tactics like countdown timers, scarcity, pressure selling and wording that suggests you will probably not succeed without buying their thing. As a designer I know I can broach some of this with clients too to try to steer them away from any shady tactics.

I’m taking the pledge because there’s no place for dirty tricks or misinformation in the fair and transparent world we all want.

My company is making the ethical move because I am tired of being sold to in a manipulative way and don’t want to be part of the problem.

I am making the ethical move because it takes a community, and community is made up of individuals who are brave enough to say, “This isn’t right. I’m ready to learn and do what I can to the best of my abilities.”

I’m making the pledge because I’m tired of being sold things I do not need in my life of business. I’m sick of sellers telling me ‘I have to have it’ if I want to succeed and keep up with everyone else. This is not a race, it’s not a competition. We all grow at different rates and our needs are all very different too.

As an email marketer, I’m tired of ingenuine, pushy marketing, and would be happy to see more change in the realm.
