I am making the ethical move after being sickened and bombarded with spammy and sleazy sales marketing. I can;t take any more and don;t want to add to it!

I have just recently come across you. Wow! What a wonderful idea/light in the crazy world, seemingly run by people determined to take advantage of those less fortunate.

I am making the ethical move because the space I work in is full of BS and bad advice and people are incredibly vulnerable to it. I believe you can be successful AND be authentic and I pledge to always act in an ethical way and to encourage my clients and peers to also do so.

I am making the ethical move because, as a marketing manager, I felt uncomfortable with the sketchy practices that were commonplace in the marketing industry. Targeting customer insecurities, misleading imagery, “spammy” emails, smear campaigns, and presenting unrealistic claims: YUCK. I founded my own ethical agency with the pledge to only make content that is honest, wholesome, and positively creative.

I am making the ethical move because I deeply believe it´s time that success should no longer be simply defined through economical growth, but through social and economical standards, too.

I’m taking the pledge because I cringe every time I see people in my industry talk about “funneling leads” and “finding prospects”. I choose to help humans, not capture leads. I do not accept my industry’s practices of false scarcity, emotional manipulation, and blaming clients who struggle to get results when it’s you who manipulated them into investing before they were truly ready. I choose to work only with those who freely choose to work with me.

Advertising enables greenwashing. Now is our last chance to speak up to protect our society and the environment. We have to stand up for real values and not €, $ or ¥.

As a copywriter, I feel it’s my duty to sell from a place of service and empowerment with ethical sources in mind. I don’t believe in scarcity, intimidation and sleazy tactics. Modern marketing should be honest and encouraging.

I’m a brand and story strategist, and I’m making the ethical move because I fundamentally believe that as small business owners we are all responsible for the change we want to see in the world, and that the stories we tell will contribute to the wider cultural narrative, whether they’re positive, or not. Storytelling is not a sales tactic, its a fundamental law which has contributed to the evolution of our species. We’re wired to recognise, listen and remember stories, which is why they have become such an effective strategy for business growth – but with this comes great responsibility and one that sadly many marketers do not heed, opting instead to utilise the power of story to drive their own agenda. I’m on mission to drive the narrative that when done right stories can be both an incredible tool for business growth AND contribute to the shared cultural narratives that shape the world we all want to live in.
