I am making a pledge because I believe the internet should be a place for good. I believe that those of us who design and develop the websites people use should do so in a fair, transparent and inclusive way. I believe web services should be clear about the value that they provide, should be user friendly to all, regardless of technical ability, disability, age, gender identity, sexual orientation, race or religion. I believe we should do our best to make sure nobody is excluded from using online services, and we should make them accessible. I stand against the manipulation of people's behaviour using deceptive design patterns, tracking people's online activity inappropriately or spreading mis or disinformation.
